Match Report

Town are in action on Tuesday night in the second round of the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup. The majority of clubs received a Bye in the first round but Town had to overcome Easington Colliery, with a 3-1 win. If the score is all square after ninety minutes - the tie will go straight to penalty kicks. The winners will go through to the quarter final stage.

The Jarrovians are having a successful season so far. They currently sit in fourth position in the table with 28 points although there are a cluster of clubs in hot pursuit. Jarrow have also exited the Durham Challenge Cup and the League Cup in recent weeks so will be eager to progress in this competition. The squad remains similar to the one Town encountered back in August apart from two signings from Seaham Red Star - Ross Toward & Jonathon Evans and Ryan Hucks came from Whitley Bay. Regular goalscoring threats come from Jonathan Higham and once prolific veteran striker Jonathan Wightman.

Hirst was selected as the one to watch for our league fixture back in August when Town routed Jarrow 5-1. Lively winger who takes set pieces. Known for scoring goals from distance.

Jarrow 1-4 Thornaby (Mellish) - League Cup

Bedlington 0-1 Jarrow (Mellish)

Jarrow 0-3 Bishop Auckland - Durham Challenge Cup

Brandon 1-1 Jarrow (Collins)

Jarrow 2-1 Ryton (Hirst 2)

Washington 3-1 Jarrow (Wightman)

Jarrow 1-1 Billingham Synthonia (Connor)

Jarrow 3-0 Durham City (Wightman 2, Hargrave)

Mark Dixon will be available after completing his three match suspension at the weekend. At the moment, there are no other players facing bans. On the injury front, Elliott Beddow and Reece Kenney will be aiming for a December return with two Derbies on the horizon against Billingham Synthonia. Lewis Macdonald is set to make his home debut after his heroics at Easington on Saturday. Oliver Simpson is around two weeks away from being considered fit for action. Although still registered to play in the Northern League, Kyle Morris has signed for Seaton Carew who play in the inaugural Wearside Development League.
