Following the announcement of Utility Alliance concluding their sponsorship of Billingham Town AFC please see the following:
A spokesman for Utility Alliance said: “Ending the sponsorship with BTFC is not an decision we have taken lightly.
“A number of factors, including COVID-19, have led to the business taking this decision and we hope the fact that the season is currently suspended will give the club time to find a new sponsor at a time when outgoings are reduced in terms of payments to players.
“We have enjoyed our relationship with BTFC having backed them since 2018, and it was heartening to see our funding initially help to secure the future of the club and provide the foundation for the team to go and win the Second Division title in some style.
“Hopefully that feelgood factor can return to Bedford Terrace sooner rather than later, and we wish the players and staff all the very best for the future.
“Finally, Utility Alliance would like to take this opportunity to thank the fans of the club for their continued support of the business throughout the sponsorship period, particularly on social media. It has not gone unnoticed. #UTT.”
Interim Chairman Barry Oliver said:
“On behalf of Billingham Town AFC, I would like to personally thank Ian Willis and Utility Alliance for the tremendous support for the past couple of seasons. Their outstanding support has allowed the club to become stable and prepared for the future”
